November 1, 2006 — FARES Foundation
The Acts of Kindness Foundation (AOK), along with the Foundation for Anthropological Research and Environmental Studies (FARES) and the Global Heritage Fund (GHF), distributed 72 refurbished computers, generators, and printers in the elementary schools of five villages on the outskirts of the MIrador Basin; villages included Carmelita, La Pasadita, Cruce a la Colorada, Dos Aguadas, and Uaxactun.
The AOK Foundation equipped the computers with Spanish programs, and provided initial instructions to local teachers.
FARES is a non-profit organization based out of the United States that works with the Guatemalan and foreign governments as well as other agencies and organizations to investigate and protect Guatemala's Mirador Basin.
